Community events galore as Newmains prepares for the return of its gala day

Newmains are gearing up for their gala day with a number of events taking place in the area over the next few days.

On Sunday June 4, it’s racing and a big lunch, stands and bouncy castles at Parc des Dallies from 1 p.m.

Then, on Monday, football trials are organized for children from primary school to S3. It’s on the West Crindledyke playgrounds from 6:30 p.m.

On Tuesday (June 7), local youngsters will showcase their talents at Newmains Kids’ Got Talent at Robin’s Bar from 6pm.

And the following day (Wednesday) Robin’s Bar in Abernethyn Road will turn into the Magic Den from 6pm.

Then on Thursday, at the same location and time, teams will have the opportunity to test their general knowledge at the Brains of Newmains quiz night. Teams of up to four can participate for £10.

And on Fridays, there is a double dose of fun. First, at the West Crindledyke Playgrounds, there will be plenty of ups and downs with bouncy castles from 6 p.m. Kicking off half an hour later at the Dallies is the annual Celtic v Rangers village football match.
