Gourmet salad lunch

DALE – Saturday, April 7 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Dale Presbyterian Church Micah Center located at 6 North Main, Dale, Ind. 47523. The cost is $10 for adults. $5 for children 7 and under. Will include salads and hot chicken. All proceeds go to missionary projects. Perform available.

Rockport Dementia Community Workshop

ROCKPORT – This is a workshop presented by the Alzheimer’s Association and SWIRCA & More on behalf of Dementia Friendly Rockport. It will be held April 19 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church 124 S. 5th St. Rockport. This is a free community workshop to learn the warning signs of Alzheimer’s disease, what it’s like to live with dementia, how communication takes place when someone has dementia, identify strategies to help communicate through each stage of the disease and how to turn your new understanding of dementia into action that can help someone in the community.

Memory Cafe

ROCKPORT – The Memory Cafe is a monthly social group that provides a safe and comfortable setting for their care partners to spend time together and stay socially connected with others. Grandview VFD Pancake Breakfast

GRANDVIEW – The Grandview Fire Department is hosting an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast at VFD on Saturday, April 11 from 7-10 a.m. The cost is $8.00.

Leaders’ Roundup “Surviving the Labor Quake”

EVANSTON – Join Leadership Spencer County for a sponsored luncheon at Matilda’s Event Barn on Thursday, April 21 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Special guests will be professional comedian Brad Tassell and leadership consultant Kye Hawkins. This is the first in a sponsored series for current and future leaders. Register online before April 15.

Rabies clinic

SPENCER COUNTY – St. Francis Animal Health Care has a rabies clinic in Spencer County.

The cost is $10.00. Age requirements: Three months or more.

ALL DOGS AND CATS MUST BE LEASHED OR PROPERLY RESTRAINED.

Chair Workouts: April 4, 11, 18, and 25 at 5 p.m. in the Hoosier Room (These fun and effective workouts are great for all fitness levels).

Yoga: April 7, 14, 21, 28 at 5 p.m. in the Hoosier room (Bring your own mat and water bottle. Workouts last between 30 and 45 minutes. What happens in Yoga class REMAINS in Yoga class .

Wooden Easter Egg Ornament Crafts: April 4 at 6 p.m. in the Spencer County Room (Paint and decorate 5-inch wooden Easter egg ornaments. The ornaments are very pretty and feature scrollwork.)

All About Tea April 11 at 6 p.m. in the Hoosier Room (Differences between teas, what is matcha, etc. and will include tea tastings)

Afternoon Book Club April 13 at 1 p.m. Genealogy Room (We will discuss “Necessary Lies” by Diane Chamberlain)

Book Bingo on April 18 at 6 p.m. in the Hoosier Room (Enjoy a fun hour of bingo play for books and book-related prizes)

ST.MEINRAD – The American Legion House of St. Meinrad is hosting a fish dinner on Friday, April 1. Service begins at 3:00 p.m. CDT while supplies last. Two Swai fish fillets, German fries, green beans and coleslaw for $12. Enter the Legion House south parking lot for pickup. Open to the public.

Community Easter Egg Hunt

ROCKPORT — Team Harney is hosting a Community Easter Egg Hunt at Rockport City Park on Saturday, April 9 starting at 10 a.m. The event is open to the public.

Event-goers can have their picture taken with the Easter Bunny, jump on a bouncy house, enjoy food from Bee Original Dawgs LLC, and win prizes.

Planting workshops

LINCOLN CITY — The Lincoln Boyhood National Memorial will be hosting hands-on planting workshops at the Living Historical Farm on Saturday, April 2 from 9 a.m. to noon. Volunteers will work with master gardener Jane Jenkins to plant historic varieties of crops in gardens and cultivated fields. You will use techniques that Thomas Lincoln likely would have used on his Indiana farm in the 1820s. Other workshops will take place to coincide with seasonal patterns and will cover topics such as soil preparation, seed starting and cold frame crops. Each workshop will begin in the shelter of the north parking lot followed by practical work at the living historic farm. Contact Erin at (812) 937-4541 with any questions.

SANTA – Santa’s Parks and Recreation is hosting a free event at Jim Yellig Park on Saturday, April 16 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Donations will be accepted on site to help fund this event and future projects/events at Yellig Park. The parks appreciate anything you can do to help them make the park better for everyone.

Flex your muscle car show

SANTA – Santa’s Lodge and the Tri-County YMCA in Ferdinand, Indiana, are bringing spring to life with a car show April 30 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Santa’s Lodge. Cars, jeeps, trucks, motorcycles and rat rods are invited to participate in the event for a chance to win one of over 60 trophies. The first 75 registrants will receive gift bags; The first 100 to register will receive scoreboard plaques. Half pots and door prizes will be available. Exhibitor pre-registration is $15 before April 23, 2022; late registration/registration day, $20. Register on www.tricountyymca.org. Spectators can enjoy seeing a wide range of amazing vehicles. In addition, food trucks will be available.
