Volunteer Information HPE would like to extend a special thank you to all community volunteers for their dedication and commitment to programs across Hastings and Prince Edward County. The past two years have been filled with change and challenges, but together we have once again made life a little better for many. Although we don’t know what the New Year will bring, we look forward to what 2022 may all of us join together to ensure a Happy New Year!

The Trenton MFRC is looking for volunteers to assist with snow removal for the winter of 2022 to assist military families throughout the season. Having your own equipment is not mandatory but can be useful.

VON Hastings, Northumberland, Prince Edward is looking for volunteers to provide a variety of home maintenance services to seniors in the Quinte West area. Including but not limited to snow removal, lawn maintenance, garden/yard cleaning. Small jobs around the house. Customers are matched with workers, then the worker tells the customer the cost of the requested job. The client would pay the worker directly.

The Prince Edward Community Care for Seniors Association is looking for volunteer drivers who can provide door-to-door transportation for medical appointments and essential purchases. Reimbursement is guaranteed

The Prince Edward Learning Center is currently looking for volunteers to help with Good Food Market duties, including running the weekly market, arranging produce, greeting shoppers and cleaning up after the weekly market. Other required positions include Covid screening, personal shoppers and delivery drivers.

The Prince Edward Learning Center is looking for a volunteer for the Community Volunteer Income Tax Program. Volunteers receive five to 10 hours of training in February. Volunteer shifts are three hours per week from March to June.

The Prince Edward Learning Center is looking for tutors to work one-on-one with our adult students. Topics may include reading, writing, numeracy and/or communication.

The Alternative’s for Women team is committed to breaking down the systemic and everyday barriers that women and their children face when leaving abusive relationships. They are looking for community members who share this passion. Volunteer roles help maintain programming and buildings. Duties include babysitting, transportation within PEC, sorting and packing donations for customers, maintenance around buildings, and assisting with events like International Women’s Day and Take Back the Night.

The Canadian Cancer Society is looking for volunteer drivers in the Madoc, Tweed and Marmora area. Volunteers Pick up clients from their homes and drive them to and from cancer-related treatments, supportive care and follow-up appointments.

Community Care Central Hastings is looking for volunteers to deliver meals to seniors at their homes on weekdays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Volunteers must have their own vehicle, time commitment can be weekly, bi-weekly or monthly

Central Hastings Support Network is currently looking for volunteers to drive clients to appointments. Locations can be both local or long distance, including Kingston or Toronto. Drivers use their own vehicles and are reimbursed through a pre-determined fee.

Community Visions Networking Quinte is looking for volunteers to get involved in the lives of the people they support. Spirit Crew volunteers support events where people can engage together, celebrate special occasions, and reach out as citizens in their communities. Enthusiastic event volunteers help lend a hand with planned events, past events include boat cruise, road trips, picnics, concerts, fundraising events and parties !

United Way Hastings Prince Edward is looking for volunteers to help out at the Belleville Senators Games to sell 50/50 tickets. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old and provide proof of their vaccination status upon entering the CAA arena. Training is provided before each shift.

The Belleville Salvation Army is currently looking for volunteers to help with the daily food program. Training and support offered in all positions.
