HOUSTON – The Houston Astros and the Astros Foundation will travel to Uvalde on Friday, July 8 to support the community following the tragic mass shooting that left 21 people dead at Robb Elementary School on May 24.

The Astros Foundation will be hosting several scheduled events across the city from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The Coca-Cola Shooting Stars and Astros Orbit mascot will be part of the tour, along with a playball event, giveaways and ice cream and more.

Event calendar :

  • 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. – The Astros Foundation and HEB will be offering ice cream, promotions and more to the community at HEB 201 E. Main St. Uvalde, TX, 78801.

  • 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. – A Play Ball baseball event will be held at Memorial Park (401 E. Main St. Uvalde, TX 78801). Astros Youth Academy players and staff will help organize the event. There will be prizes and a lunch donated by Whataburger for community members in attendance.

  • 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. – A visitation at Uvalde Memorial Hospital (1025 Garner Field Rd. Uvalde, TX 78801) will take place. Astros Orbit’s mascot, the Shooting Stars will be visiting and bringing gifts and prizes for patients, doctors and nurses. This event will not be open to the public.
